There have been a lot of misconceptions on how you can get the greatest % of res. Because of that I decided to write a little guide.
There are 3 common misconceptions on how to get the most out of your res:
1. The only way to increase your res is to increase your wit. BSPS has no effect on how much % you get back from your res, only how fast you cast.
2. Wit does not add a set amount of % onto your res. Commonly people say it is +3 each wit or +5. This is also false.
3. It is impossible to get a 93% res or 95% res or what ever other variation of such you have heard. There is a hard cap of a bonus of 20% added onto your res.
Now that, that is out of the way we can get onto the good stuff. You must understand that wit adds a % onto your res. So you must take your normal res level, for instant 20% and then add on the bonus by multiplying it in. 23 wit gives a 16% bonus, so you would take 20*1.16 to get how much your res is worth, 23.2.
Here are the % bonuses for wit:
17 = -14%
18 = -9%
19 = -5%
20 = 0%
21 = 5%
22 = 10%
23 = 16%
24 = 22%
25 = 28%
26 = 34%
27 = 41%
28 = 48%
29 = 55%
30 = 63%
31 = 71%
I picked this range because if you have less then 17% wit perhaps you shouldn't be resurrecting people. And 31 is the max because thats what an Elven Elder with +5 wit and Blue Wolf should have.
You should now be able to calculate what ever your res % is. However just to make things easy, I will now list the res levels and what wit you need for max. I will also list the wit below it if its within % or so of the max.
1. Level 1 res, 0% back. Wit does not matter here.
2. Level 2 res, 20% back. 35 wit needed to get a 40% res, but this is impossible.
3. Level 3 res, 30% back. 31 wit needed to get a 50% res. 30 wit will get you a 48.9% res.
4. Level 4 res, 40% back. 29 wit needed to get a 60% res. 28 wit will give a 59.2% res
5. Level 5 res, 50% back. 27 wit needed to get a 70% res.
6. Level 6 res, 55% back. 27 wit needed to get a 75% res.
7. Level 7 res, 60% back. 26 wit needed to get a 80% res.
8. Level 8 res, 65% back. 26 wit needed to get a 85% res.
9. Level 9 res, 70% back. 26 wit needed to get a 90% res.
25 wit will give a 89.6% res
